Nov. 27, 2009 Live Audio | Live Video | Game Notes PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The road wasn't very kind for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team after a 0-4 trip to the Midwest as they return home to host American University Saturday at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center for a 2 p.m. tip. The Hawks have started the season 0-5 and lost Sunday to The Citadel, 88-62, in the Hispanic College Fund Challenge, hosted by Missouri State. Senior Neal Pitt (Fort Washington, Md.) led the team with 17 points and chipped in five rebounds. Freshman James Cotton (Pocomoke, Md.) and junior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each had 10 points for UMES. White was named to the HCFC All-Tournament Team while Pitt was an Honorable Mention Selection. American, a team that has made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2008 and 2009 after winning the Patriot League both seasons, has started the current season 0-6. They lost, 69-62, to Manhattan University Wednesday evening. Sophomore Stephen Lumpkins leads the Eagles with 14.0 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game.
