VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference named freshman Sean Berry (Irvington, N.J.) Rookie of the Week on Monday. Berry fell two points shy of a double-double with eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds in the Hawks victory over Navy on Wednesday. The win ended the UMES' 16-year losing streak to the Mids and improved the Hawks record to 3-5. Senior Neal Pitt (Fort Washington, Md.) and sophomore Tyler Hines (Sicklerville, N.J.) were named Other Top Perfomers for the week. Pitt also grabbed 10 rebounds and added in five points over Navy. Hines had a career-high 12 rebounds (nine on the offensive end) and scored a career-high-tying 16 points in his second start of the season. UMES takes a week off for final exams before heading to the Midwest for contests against Wright State (Dayton, Ohio) on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Northern Illinois (DeKalb, Ill.) on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
