Dec. 21, 2009 Listen Live | Burns Interview | Game Notes DEKALB, Ill. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's basketball team looks to rebound after an ugly loss at Wright State as they take on Northern Illinois Tuesday at 2 p.m. EST. The Hawks are coming off an 87-46 loss at Wright State Saturday evening to move them to 3-6 on the season. Redshirt sophomore Hillary Haley (Oxon Hill, Md.) leads UMES in scoring with an average of 11.0 points per contest. Senior Neal Pitt (Fort Washington, Md.) averages a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game while junior Kevin White (Brooklyn, N.Y.) dishes out 5.2 assists per match. The Huskies lost to the University of Illinois-Chicago, 69-49, on Saturday to continue a five-game losing streak and have a record of 1-7. Sophomore forward Michael Fakuade fell just shore of his first career double-double with a team-high 11 points and nine rebounds. Junior Sean Kowal also grabbed nine rebounds and was held to just six points. Junior Darion Anderson leads the team in scoring for the season with 10.5 points per, in eight games played. This is the first meeting between the two teams, but is a reunion for the two head coaches, UMES' Frankie Allen and NIU's Ricardo Patton. Patton served as an assistant under Allen at Tennessee State from 1991-93.
