ATHENS, OHIO--Still in search of its first win of the season, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore prepares for its last game of the 2012 season. The Hawks will fight the Midwest snow and cold in search of a win against its Mid-American Conference opponent Ohio University. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start in Athens, Ohio.

Without leading scorer Kyree Jones active, the Hawks will look to veterans Louis Bell and Ishaq Pitt to shoulder the Hawks offense. Bell started at Connecticut, and scored a total of 12 points. Jones was averaging 16.6 points per game. Troy Snyder ranked second on the team with an average of 11.7 PPG.

Bell and Pitt average 5.2 and 6.3 PPG, respectively. As a team, UMES is scoring an average of 57.1 PPG, in comparison to the average of 76.8 points it is allowing opponents to score. Ohio enters the game 7-4 overall, and are coming off a 85-76 loss to the University of Massachusetts.

The Bobcats have three double-digit scorers in D.J. Cooper (14.8 PPG), Walter Offutt (11.7 PPG) and Nick Kellogg (10.1 PPG). UMES will certainly have to find a way defensively to slow the Bobcat's offensive production.

Look for Ronald Spencer and Francis Ezeiru to be the needed Hawks in this area. Both will be needed to win the rebounding battle. UMES out-rebounded Connecticut, and the same expectation will be placed on the Hawks this week.
