SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore golf team concluded its fall schedule this past weekend as the Hawks placed 11th at the Tiger Invitational in Savannah, Ga. The Hawks shot a 368 in the first round, before concluding the tournament with a 382 on day two. The total score of 750 gave the Hawks a seventh-place finish in the region.

UMES was led by freshman Keun Park (Woodstock, Md.), who opened his collegiate golfing career with an 88, 86 to finish in 43rd. His effort was followed by senior Christopher Toney (La Plata, Md.) and junior Richard Fleming (Upper Marlboro, Md.). Toney was tied for the lead for UMES on day one with an 88, before finishing with a 99 on the second day to finish 51st. Fleming was 53rd with a score of 194.

Rounding out the scoring for UMES was senior Sedrick Bailey (Baltimore, Md.). Bailey golfed in his second tournament of the fall and finished in 54th after shooting 94, 101.

The Hawks will take a few months off before they begin their spring schedule in February. The spring will be the final rounds of collegiate golf for four UMES golfers.
