PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- Come one and come all, children 11 years old and under receive free admission with a paying adult to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore basketball doubleheader Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 and 4 p.m. UMES is hosting its "Take a Kid to the Game" day as the Hawks take on Delaware State. Children in 7th grade and up are also invited to come, and receive free admission with a paying adult*.

Children have the opportunity to experience a college basketball game as UMES hosts "Take A Kid to the Game" (TAKG) program. UMES is one of more than 200 schools across the nation that is hosting a game in this campaign focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college basketball games. The Take A Kid to the Game program is entering into its sixteenth year in the promotion of collegiate athletics.

As a part of children 11 years old and under attending, they will receive a coupon to get free food and drink for the game. Delaware State is one of the Hawks biggest rivals in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, and asking for attendance from the surrounding area for its support Saturday.

This game day experience is an opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model and learn about sportsmanship that can be demonstrated on the playing field.

*Individuals that are at least 12 years old must complete the registration form, identifying that Saturday's event prior to attending.
