PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men's Tennis Team fell to 0-4 on the young season with a loss to visiting Washington College who won 7-1 in the wind and cold at the Hawks Outdoor Tennis Complex. The Shoremen improved to 4-0 with the win.

The match was decided early so the remaining matches were played as pro sets with the Hawks' top player Rashad James, defeating Timothy Parks 8-6. Dorian Thomas fell 8-1 to Adam Cranford and Harold Fowler fell to Todd Green by the same score at #3 singles.

The fourth singles were not played and UMES forfeited #6 singles.

In #5 singles Washington's Michal Switala topped Delonte Monk 6-0, 6-0. Washington won by default at third doubles and captured the win at #1 doubles as Cranford and Brian Danver beat James and Thomas, 8-1, while Derek Wise and Parks were 8-1 winners over Fowler and William Ntirenganya at No. 2 doubles.

The men are back in action on Wednesday, March 12 when they travel to Dover, Del. to take on Wesley College.
