BALTIMORE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men's Tennis team grabbed its first win of the season today, a 4-2 win over Coppin State, in their final contest of the season. UMES (1-12, 1-8) also got a MEAC decision with the win. This is the first win for the program since April 3, 2004 when the Hawks topped Delaware State 4-3.

Without a doubles point it was the singles matches in the spotlight. UMES got a win at #2 singles from Marcus Robinson as he topped Belind Kellici 7-6, 6-2, 6-0. Christopher Clarke also got a win at #4 singles topping Aluwaseun Sanya. Clarke was up 1-0 when Sanya retired.

The Hawks also picked up wins at the #5 and #6 singles sports. William Ntirenganya topped Shane Smith at #5 singles 7-6, 6-1 while Andrew Graham won by forfeit.

Kishan Sudusinghe fell at #1 singles in a tough match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Buwana Galpoththawela fell at #3 singles 6-3, 6-1.
