MEN'S TENNIS OPENS UP WITH TOP-SEEDED S.C. STATE IN MEAC TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has released its 2011-12 Men’s Tennis Championship bracket and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore men’s tennis team will open up with top-seeded South Carolina State University on Friday, April 13 at noon. The Hawks received the invitation after finishing in fourth-place in the MEAC North, while S.C. State stands as the No. 1 seed in the MEAC South. UMES (0-16, 0-7 MEAC) faces a tough challenge in their opener as the Bulldogs have won 14-straight matches and ended the regular season with a 16-2 mark. They were a perfect 4-0 in the MEAC and are vying for their fifth straight conference title. The winner of the match will square off with the winner of the Bethune-Cookman and Hampton contest on Saturday, April 14 at noon. The single-elimination tournament will conclude on Sunday, April 15.
