PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today its 2014 Men’s and Women’s Tennis All-Academic selections, which honored 67 student athletes from the conference’s 13 member institutions. Among the honorees are four Hawks—two seniors, a junior and a sophomore.
The Hawks who were named All-Academic honors were seniors Wirlen Elame (Silver Spring, Md.) and Reine Fowajuh (Wilmington, Del.), junior Wayne Heath (Pungoteague, Va.) and sophomore Mohin Uddin (Forestville, Md.).
MEAC sophomores, juniors and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA who have been in residence for a year at their school are eligible for the honor. “"I commend our men's and women's tennis student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the academic school year," said MEAC Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. “I would further like to congratulate the coaches, academic support staff and parents of these academic achievers for their contributions to the student-athletes' success."
The tennis team will play its final match of the season at Stevenson on April 22nd.
