Coach Massey is in his fourth year as an assistant at UMES. He comes to UMES from New York where he enjoyed much success in the high school and college ranks. "Chris is a great guy and a great coach," said Head Coach Fred Batchelor. "He works hard and really knows the game. He will help tremendously with on the floor coaching, making sure our players are academically sound, our travel, and film exchange program." Massey most recently was Head Coach at the Mt. Mercy Academy where they were league champions and runner's up in the New York State Catholic Championship both of the last two seasons. He complied a record of 49-6 overall and 23-3 in league play in those two years. Massey also served as Head Coach of an AAU team that won six of nine tournaments for 14 year old girls, Head Coach of another that won five of eight for 15 year olds, and served as Head Coach of a junior boys basketball team. Massey got his college experience at Buffalo State College under then Head Coach, Batchelor. That year they won the SUNYAC Championship with a 25-4 record. |
