Revonda Whitley begins her seventh year at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore but is in her sixth year as assistant coach to Fred Batchelor.
"Coach Whitley is a dream to work with. She knows the game, has an incredible work ethic, and will make a difference in this program," said Batchelor.
Whitley earned her Master's degree in Human Performance and Sport Studies (Sport Psychology) from Tennessee prior to the beginning of her coaching career.
Her resume includes coaching the Columbia Warriors men's semi-professional basketball team (1998) and coaching girls at The Timmerman School (1999). She was head junior varsity coach at Eau Claire High School (2000), all in Columbia, S.C.
Her collegiate coaching career began at Elizabeth City State in 2001 just an hour away from where she grew up (Pantego, N.C.).
Whitley has five siblings, all of whom contributed to her love for the game of basketball. She currently resides in Princess Anne, Md. |
