Orangeburg, SC - The UMES Lady Hawks dropped their seventh consecutive game Monday night, falling to the first-place South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs 75-68 in a conference match at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. The Hawks fell to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in MEAC play.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-6, 4-0 MEAC) led 39-32 after scoring the first basket of the second half, but UMES came back to take a one-point lead about midway through the half. South Carolina State took control from there however, building a lead as large as eight points on a couple occasions en route to the seven-point victory.

The Lady Hawks resume MEAC action Saturday as they continue a four-game road trip with a match-up at Norfolk State.
