Toni Kennedy (Baltimore, Md.) led the way for the maroon and gray with a game high 24 points on 6-for-13 shooting from 3-point range. The maroon and gray missed their first nine shots to open the half but later rebounded after a Daynese Stowe lay-up at 15:46 spurred a 17-2 run by the Lady Hawks. A Kennedy 3-pointer at 5:45 capped the UMES run and gave the maroon and gray a 21 point lead, their largest of the afternoon. The 21-point lead was also a season high for the Lady Hawks. Kennedy had 11 of UMES' 17 points during that run.

FAMU cut the advantage down to 16 but would get no closer as the Lady Hawks took home the 19-point Homecoming victory.

UMES will do battle with Bethune-Cookman in their next decision. The Lady Hawks takes on the Lady Wildcats on Monday, February 20 at 5:30 pm.
