Princess Anne, MD - Hampton University's Lady Pirates put a stop to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Lady Hawks winning streak, 82-62 on Monday night at the Hytche Center.

The Lady Hawks lead the Lady Pirates 24-15 in the first ten minutes of the game, and by as many as 12 on two occasions, but Hampton went on a 20-6 run regaining the lead at the end of the first half.

Brendy Ellis hit a three pointer with six seconds left in the first half advancing Hampton's lead to four at the half.

Laconia Hatcher(19 points) and LaToshia Bailey (12 points) fought hard for the UMES Lady Hawks, but they were no match for Hampton's Nicole Brathwaite (27 points), Sharema Dean (18 points) and Lynetta Sullivan (10 points).

Within the first ten minutes of the second half, the Lady Pirates went on a 24-7 run, never looking back, defeating the Lady Hawks at the last home game of the season.

The Lady Hawks six seniors, Tiffany Winkfield, Ckyla Grays, Kimberly Martin, Paula Tucker, Tekeya Gooden and Bailey, finished their career's in Princess Anne on Monday by playing their final home game.

The Lady Hawks will finish their season on the road against Coppin State this Saturday February 28th at 5:30pm and on Monday March 1, at 5:30pm against Morgan State.
