11/15/2002 - UMES LADY HAWKS HAVE TO PLAY EACH OTHER

PRINCESS ANNE, MD- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Lady Hawks were scheduled to play their final exhibition game of the season tonight versus the MI Express. The Express couldn't make it and the squad broke into two teams and battled it out against each other with the Maroon team winning by a score of 83-75 over the Grey squad.

JUCO transfer Tiffany Winkfield of Maroon led all scorers with 24 points and all rebounders with 14 boards. Her teammate Kimberly martin added 15 while Neferteria Franklin and Tekeya Gooden had 14 each.

Antoinette Daniels who notched 19 points and nine rebounds paced the Grey squad. They had four other players in double figures with sophomore Chickwue Okaro getting 14.

"I am happy with the overall play. I am disappointed we didn't get to play another team but either way we will be ready come next week's trip to Arkansas," said head Coach Surina Dixon. The Lady Hawks travel next week for a two game road trip against Arkansas State University on Saturday and University of Arkansas Little Rock on Monday. Their next home game will be Wednesday, November 27 at 12:00 PM against Robert Morris University in the Hytche Center.
