PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - When Head Women's Basketball Coach Fred Batchelor led his team to a school record 17 wins in the 2007-08 campaign, many local ears were abuzz with the news of the squad's success. It didn't hurt that the Lady Hawks featured three All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) players, including local standout Casey Morton who was named the conference's Rookie of the Year. Now, girls from the Eastern Shore, and beyond will have a chance to meet Coach Batchelor, his staff, Morton and other coaches and players as the program hosts the Lady Hawks Women's Basketball Day Camp.

The camp, with the slogan that reads, Three Days of FUNdamental Basketball, is a mini-camp of sorts, as it will run Monday, June 23 through Wednesday June 25 from 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon to 6:00 p.m. in the evening. The cost is just $25.00 per camper and includes a t-shirt, awards, and instruction.

The affordable and informational sessions will feature personal instruction from Coach Batchelor and his staff on ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding, positioning, communication, defensive stances and playing as a triple threat.

Registration has already started and players can contact Coach Cedric Jenkins at cnjenkins1@umes.edu or by calling 410-651-7504. Payment information and camp requirements can be obtained by e-mailing or calling Coach Jenkins.
