PRINCESS ANNE, MD. – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) will host the fourth annual Hawk Hysteria on Friday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center. Fans will have an opportunity to see the debut of this season’s UMES men’s and women’s basketball teams while enjoying the entertainment. Admission is $2.

Fans will have a chance to see former UMES men’s and women’s basketball alumni and receive autographs from the current players and coaching staff throughout the night. The 2013-14 men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced and both teams will tip-off a 20-minute scrimmage each. The women will jump start the action followed by the men shortly after.

In addition, UMES’ mascot, Harry the Hawk, will celebrate his sixth birthday with surprise visits from many of the Eastern Shore’s best mascots. The mascots will celebrate Harry’s birthday with cake while singing Happy Birthday.

The UMES Cheerleading Squad, Diamond Dance Team, and Thundering Hawk Pep Band will make special performances while Bill Baker “The Rumpshaker” and OC 104 will be on site. Force One Productions will provide the music for the night. UMES will also honor the 2013 National Championship women’s bowling team.

The institution looks forward to seeing many fans in attendance. Guests will have an opportunity to participate in several different contests and games and earn free Hawk swag. Be ready for a night of fun and excitement! Go Hawks!
