HAWKS A HALF POINT SHY OF TAKING MEAC'S ALL SPORTS AWARD

Seventy six and a half points is what the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) tallied in the race for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's Mary McLeod Bethune Women's All-Sports Award. That is out of a possible 96 points, a pretty good score for a successful women's program. It was, unfortunately for the Lady Hawks' athletic teams, a half point short. KRISTINA FRAHM NAMED TO ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

Kristina Frahm (Oswego, Ill.) is more than a National Champion; she is a student-athlete. The student portion rings true for the sophomore athlete who carries a 3.94 GPA in business administration at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). LADY HAWKS WRAP UP SEASON WITH FIFTH PLACE FINISH AT USBC CHAMPIONSHIPS

After finishing seventh at last weekend's NCAA Championships, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women's bowling team was hoping to rebound at the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships held at the Peach Bowl in Rockford, Ill. While the Hawks didn't capture the nation's other National Championship for collegiate women's bowling, they did improve, taking fifth in the 16-team field and posting an overall record of 3-2 at the event.
