Like many of the other international bowlers at UMES, Alvarado has competed all over the world. "We have become known for our international bowlers," said former head coach Sharon Brummell, who recruited her. "But you can't beat that experience, they bowl in different countries all the time, there is national pride and bragging rights on the line constantly. It is a big situation and when they come here they bring that with them. Mariana's very talented but combine that with her experience, and she will be a big part of our success this season."
