Personal: Valerie Riggin joined the Hawks as a mid-year freshman in 2011-12, hailing from Vista, California. She is the daughter of Maria and Richard Riggin, whom along with her boyfriend Dan, Valerie lists as her biggest supporters. She attended Rancho Buena Vista High School where she earned academic honors in 2010 and 2011 and played volleyball the same years. Her bowling squad was league champions in 2010 and made the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Playoffs as a top-four seed in 2010 and 2011, winning in 2010. She won the 2011 JBT Las Vegas Main Event before starting her career at UMES. She volunteers her time with Youth Bowlers for Success and Invisible Children. Her favorite saying is "It's More important to look ahead then look back," and her favorite book and movie are Mind Gym by Gary Back and The Blind Side, respectively.

2011-2012: Riggin appeared in five team games and averaged a 199 and knocked down 995 pins....High game of a 222 in the Morgan State Invitational...Bowled in nine Baker games
