Hampton, Va - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women's bowling team was in action again over the weekend and came out with the same results, another tournament win. In a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division event the Hawks were again the victors going 8-0 with wins over Coppin State, Delaware State, and Howard Universities.

The wins improve UMES to 25-2 on the season in NCAA matches, an outstanding record for qualifying for the NCAA Championship in April of 2005. The wins this weekend, all over MEAC foes, put their record to 14-2 overall and 13-1 in the conference.

The Lady Hawks got strong rolling from Maryetta Lewis who rolled a 686 series against Coppin State. Sandra Maresca also was outstanding in the match rolling just one pin less at 685. Lewis also collected the high game of the weekend in that match with a 253. She also dished out a 236 in that game. Other efforts over 225 include Maresca in that match with a 246, Ariel Givens with a 238, Megan Raymond with a 235, and a 236 by Maresca against Howard.

UMES looks to continue their winning ways this weekend in Lancaster, PA as they bowl in the Pennsylvania Classic on the 16th and 17th of October.
