Pocomoke City, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women's bowling team continued their dominance of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division, knocking off Morgan State, Howard, and Delaware State (DSU), each three games to none, to lock a first place finish in the MEAC North. They did this three days after the UMES women's volleyball team clinched the MEAC Northern Division title with their win over DSU.

The Lady Hawks rolled in their only `home' match of the season this weekend and improved their record to 20-4 and 41-4 (NCAA).

UMES opened the weekend by knocking off rival Morgan State 3-0, a difference of 493 pins (3159-2666). That match saw a high game of 255 from Erin Fagan (Rensselaer, N.Y./Hudson Valley C.C.) and a high series of 683 from Jessica Worsley (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial H.S.).

The Lady Hawks ended day one with a match against Howard University. The Lady Bison of Howard are responsible for three of the Hawks losses this season, although none were in league play, and the Hawks went in focused. They were plenty prepared as they knocked off Howard 3-0, 2891-2743 pins. Worsley was the high scorer again as she rolled a 678 series.

On day two the Lady Hawks lone opponent was the Hornets of Delaware State. They easily took care of DSU 2774-2320, three games to none. Worsley again was hot, throwing a 610 series. Sandra Maresca (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck H.S.) rolled the high series for the Hawks, a 645 and Kristie Minnis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Frederick Douglass H.S.) rolled a solid 611 series.

The Lady Hawks take a week off before returning to action in Atlanta at the Brunswick Southern Classic on November 6 & 7. UMES went undefeated in MEAC play this season. The Conference Championships are November 11-13.
