Greensboro, N.C. - On day one of the Aggie Women's NCAA Invitational, the maroon and grey of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women's bowling team went 2-3 defeating the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW) 798-687 to open the day and Texas Southern University (TSU) 828-768 to close the day. However, UMES struggled in between, falling to Central Missouri State (933-883), Arkansas State (793-823) and Southern (805-831) Universities.

In a 5-person team game, UMES was led by Sandra Maresca's (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Mamaroneck) 222 in a victory over UWW. She led the team with a series score of 884 over the five games. In the win over TSU, Maryetta Lewis (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Niagara Wheatfield) and Ariel Givens (Newark, Del./Mt. Pleasant) each rolled a 179. The Hawks totaled 4107 pins over the five matches. Jessica Worsley (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) contributed a 836 five-game series.

On day two, UMES went 2-2 in baker games with wins over New Jersey City University (550-468) and Cheyney University (513-245). However, the Hawks dropped close decisions to Farleigh Dickinson (543-526) and Sacred Heart (535-498). They posted a high game of 212 against Farleigh Dickinson

UMES improved its NCAA record to 59-5 on the season.
