VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) freshman T'Nia Falbo (Greensburg, Pa.) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week the league announced Tuesday.

Falbo, averaged a 201 over seven team games to tally 1,407 pins. She led the no. 2 Lady Hawks to a 6-4 record and second place overall at the 7th Annual Holiday Collegiate Bowling Classic in Bessemer, Ala. this past weekend. Falbo posted a career high 246 in a win over Stephen F. Austin and recorded four games over 200.

Falbo's selection marks the seventh time a UMES bowler has won the award this season and the second by a freshman. Anggie Ramirez won earlier this year while fellow Hawks Paula Vilas and Maria Rodriguez also won once. Martha Perez won the award three weeks in a row.

Falbo and the rest of the Lady Hawks take the week off and return to the lanes March 13 & 14, 2010 at the USBC Sectional Qualifier in Allentown, Pa.
