NORFOLK, Va. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today the 2013 Women's Bowling All-Academic Team that includes 39 women from 11 MEAC schools and features seven Hawks. UMES has the second most student-athletes from any school.

Mariana Alvarado (Leon, Mexico), Megan Buja (Rockford, Ill.), Valentina Collazos (Cali, Colombia), T'nia Falbo (Greensburg, Pa.), Victoria Jones (Baltimore, Md.), Tatiana Munoz (Ibague Tolima, Colombia) and Anggie Ramirez (Bogota, Colombia) all earned the Commissioner's distinction.

The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores to seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes who have been at the school for at least one year.

"I applaud our bowling student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the current academic school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "In addition to acknowledging the accomplishments of these student-athletes, I also commend the athletic academic support staff, personnel and coaching staffs who contributed to the academic success of these student-athletes."
