INDIANAPOLIS - NCAASports.com staff writer Amy Farnum recently wrote a feature on the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women's Bowling Team. The feature titled, "Contender to challenger" tells the story of the Hawks this season, building a program, winning their second straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title and winning with a young team.

UMES defeated every team but one in the field this season, that being Vanderbilt. The article, a preview for the NCAA Championship which start on April 12 in Apopka Fla. Features the Hawks in their fourth straight tournament appearance along with defending National Champions Fairleigh Dickinson University, two-time champion Neberaska, New jersey City University and Central Missouri. This year's field also has Sacred Heart, Vanderbilt and Minnesaota State-Mankato.
