NORFOLK, Va. - University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) senior All-American Anggie Ramirez was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week, the conference announced earlier this week.

Ramirez (5-7, Sr., Bogota Colombia) averaged a 216.2 and 1,081 pinfall at the UMES Hawk Classic last week. She aided the Lady Hawks to an 11-2 mark and first place finish overall. Ramirez bowled three 200-plus games, including a career-high 279 in a win over #10 Stephen F. Austin. That tally earned her the tournament's highest game award.

Ramirez was also clutch in Baker games, rolling a strike in the ninth frame of the seventh and final game against the University of Central Missouri in the championship match of the tournament. Her strike was the necessary set-up to T'nia Falbo's (Greensburg, Pa.) turkey in the tenth to seal the title.

Ramirez leads the Hawk's into their second MEAC Northern Division meet in Baltimore on December 1 & 2.
