HAWKS A HALF POINT SHY OF TAKING MEAC'S ALL SPORTS AWARD

Seventy six and a half points is what the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) tallied in the race for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's Mary McLeod Bethune Women's All-Sports Award. That is out of a possible 96 points, a pretty good score for a successful women's program. It was, unfortunately for the Lady Hawks' athletic teams, a half point short. UMES REPRESENTED WELL ON MEAC COMMISSIONER'S ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Forty-five University of Maryland Eastern Shore student-athletes have been named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Commissioner's All-Academic Team, the league announced Friday. MORE[+]
Forty-five UMES student-athletes were named to the MEAC Commissioners All-Academic Team Friday.
Mills led the team in stolen bases this season.

MILLS NAMED TO MEAC ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

After the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) bowed out early in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) softball tournament, the league announced early this week that Eastern Shore native Hannah Mills (Parksley, Va.) was named to the All-Tournament team.
