UMES SOFTBALL DROPS CONTEST TO NCAT, 12-0
March 1, 2008
GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Softball team played game three of their season at the North Carolina A&T Fast pitch Invitational against the host Aggies of North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT). The Lady Hawks never seemed to get the offense going as they posted just two hits and were topped 12-0 in five innings.
Cassandra Carlos and Tiana Strother both collected a hit for UMES. Carols' hit came as a single to left center to start the game while Strother hit an infield single toe the shortstop in the fourth inning.
The Aggies put up seven runs on three hits and two Hawk errors in the first inning and then added four more runs in the second inning on four hits and one more Hawk error.
L. Bullock had two RBI for NCAT and was 3-3 with three runs. B. Reddick and B. Hodges also scored twice for the Lady Aggies.
UMES plays Winston-Salem State tomorrow in the consolation game of the N.C. A&T Fast-pitch Invitational starting at 10:00 a.m.
