Emmitsburg, MD - Jen Sansevero went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Mount St. Mary's past University of Maryland-Eastern Shore 7-0 in non-conference softball action on Tuesday.

Sansevero drove in two runs in the fifth and came around to score, helping the Mount (3-9) to its second consecutive victory.

Maria Lutz and Danyale Goode each added two hits, an RBI and a run scored while Sarah Ramsburg went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two stolen bases in the winning effort.

Lesley Aitkenhead and Christina Mason each tallied two hits for the Hawks (1-12) in the loss.

Mount St. Mary's scored in three consecutive innings to cruise to its third victory of the year.

Sansevero doubled off the top of the fence in left with one out. Mary Dillon pinch ran for Sansevero and touched home on Goode's single to center for the 1-0 advantage.

The Mount added five runs in the fifth to put the game away. Lisa Worden reached on a bunt single with one out before Jen Emel singled. After Lutz walked to load the bases, Sansevero singled to score Worden and Emel while Lutz came home on a throwing error. Eileen Williams plated Sansevero before Goode scored on an error on the next play.

Ramsburg helped manufacture an insurance run in the sixth after starting the stanza with an infield hit. She then stole second and advanced to third on an Emel single before Lutz knocked Ramburg in with a single to hand Mount St. Mary's a 7-0 lead.

Williams finished the game with two hits and an RBI. Freshman Jamie Johnson pitched a four-hit complete-game shutout for the squad's first shutout win of the year. Johnson (2-3) added six strikeouts.
