PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) named University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) freshman Hannah Mills (Parksley, Va.) Rookie of the Week for her role in the Lady Hawks 3-1 performance last week. The Arcadia High School graduate is the first UMES softball player to be recognized by the conference this season. Mills hit .461 for the week, recording a triple, double and two RBI in one of the Lady Hawks wins over MEAC rival Coppin State University. With another double and a home run under her belt, Mills finished the week with an amazing 1.307 slugging percentage. The high school standout pitcher currently leads the team in ERA. She allowed just over two earned runs against MEAC opponents last week, striking out seven and walking just two of the 56 batters faced.
