DSU went on to take the rest of the matches in singles play, before posting an 8-1 victory over McMillan and junior Shamara McKenzie (Neptune, N.J.) at top singles.
Several hours later, the Hawks engaged in a match against SSU, where UMES lost 7-0. McMillan fell 7-2 at No. 1. The Hawks lost 8-0 across the rest of singles play, but Simmons would win one game at No. 3. McMillan and McKenzie won their third game of the day at top doubles, but fell 8-2.
