April 09, 2005
Washington, D.C. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Men and Women's Tennis Teams headed to the nation's capital to battle the Bison of Howard University. Unfortunately it did not turn out in the Hawk's favor as the men fell 7-0 and the women fell via forfeit.
On the men's side the Bison controlled the Hawks, clipping their wings and allowing them to score only three points during the match. Number one player Christopher Clarke fell to Howard's Kenneth Brown 6-1, 6-1 while Rob Schneider fell to Brandon Smith 6-0, 6-1 in the number two match.
Howard took all six individual matches and all three doubles contests.
UMES returns home on April 12 to battle Hampton University under the lights of Hawk Court on the campus of UMES in Princess Anne, MD. The match has a 7:00 pm start time.
