DURHAM, N.C. -- In a neutral site matchup played on the campus on North Carolina Central University, the UMES tennis doubles team of freshman Selena Jones (Pocomoke City, Md.) and junior Alex Manalova (Sofia, Bulgaria) earned a game victory against Savannah State this past Sunday.

The team earned their win in their lone doubles set versus the Tiger pair of Angela Bonilla and Nicole Ashiedu, before ultimately dropping the match, 8-1. The pair have earned three game wins together in doubles, while Jones has two singles wins, and Manalova took a set in her match versus Virginia Wesleyan.

On the men's side, their matches versus the Eagles of N.C. Central were postponed due to the inclement weather. A makeup date of April 12th has been announced to be played at a neutral site in Petersburg, Virginia. Match time currently is TBA.

Both teams will travel to Radford, Virginia, to take on the Highlanders of Radford University this coming Wednesday, April 9th. Match time is set for 2pm.
