2003:Made an impact in her first year with the Hawks. Transferred from junior college with Mamie Lewis and the pair became a force in the MEAC. Notched 249 kills in her first season at Division I and hit .216 with 32 aces. Dug out 201 balls and had 27 total blocks defensively.
2002:At Indian River Smith racked up the kills and digs in 96 games played. She banged out 234 kills while committing just 121 errors in 641 total attempts. She served up 36 aces that season while digging out 213 balls. At the net Aja had 53 solo blocks and 69 assisted.
2001:Smith had a respectable freshman year and was an integral part of the team. As of press time her stats for that season were unavailable.
Personal:Born on May 8, 1982 in Tampa, Fla. Has four brothers, Johnnie, George, Jabar, and Justin. Is daughter of Dora and Johnnie Smith. Is majoring in Business Administration.
