The South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs (17-4, 4-2 MEAC) bested the Hampton University Lady Pirates (5-21, 2-7 MEAC) in a close three-game match, by scores of 30-27, 30-28, 30-28. The final points in each game provided the difference in the match, as SCSU came through late in each game to escape with close victories. Monique Walker (14 kills) and Stacey Stewart (11 kills) led the Lady Bulldogs offensive attack. Setter Charlene Pama totaled 40 assists in the victory. Hampton's Chavanca Hoskins compiled team-highs with 13 kills and seven digs. Setter Erin Pinning had 21 assists in the losing effort.
