DOVER, DEL.-The UMES Volleyball team dropped a non-conference decision to Delaware State on Friday, falling to the Lady Hornets 3-0 (30-26, 30-26, 30-22) in a road contest at Dover, Del.

Kim Braxton led the Hawk attack with seven kills while Chanita Wesley added six digs. Defensively UMES got a big effort from Wesley with a match high 14 digs. Kate Smith and Melanie Durimel had six digs each.

Delaware State's Julia Balzer and Kinga Muszynski had 13 kills apiece. Dawn Alford tallied a solid 40 assists in the win.

The loss drops UMES to 5-24, while Delaware State improves to 8-17.

The Lady Hawks will next travel to Brooklyn on Saturday, Nov. 5 to participate in the LIU Tournament.
