Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore defeated North Carolina A&T State (13-13, 6-2 MEAC) in three games with scores of 30-25, 30-20 and 30-21. This improves their record 20-9, 6-1 MEAC. Jana Milin notched 16 kills and 9 digs to pace UMES. Sanda Dzile had 34 assists while Chrissy Jacobs had 10 kills for the Hawks. "The ladies really played strong against this team tonight" said Coach Toby Rens. "This was a big win to help us secure our second consecutive 20 win season," Rens added. Arlene Mitchell led the Aggies with 12 kills and Tara Cote had 19 assists and 9 digs.
The Hawks next home game will be on Friday, October 31 at the Tawes Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m. against South Carolina State University. This is the final home match of the season for the Hawks. Come out and support the campaign for a MEAC Championship. As always, admission to all games is free.
