Greensboro, NC- Greensboro, NC- The 2nd-seeded UMES Volleyball team (25-11) advanced to the semifinals of the MEAC Tournament Friday morning with a victory against #7 Howard (8-17), three games to none. The Hawks will play #3 North Carolina A&T St. (17-15), who beat #6 Bethune-Cookman 3-1 in the quarters, in the conference semi's Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

"We started out tight," said head coach Toby Rens. "We did a good job of re-focusing and working our game. We had to work through those pre-game jitters, and I was proud of the way we came from behind in the first two games to get the victory."

The Hawks defeated both NC A&T St. 3-0 on October 30th at Tawes Gymnasium during the regular season.

In the other conference semifinal at 7:00, #1 seed FAMU will take on #4 seed Morgan State for a spot in the conference championship.
