PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Millicent Van Norden is building her first class of players for the 2013 season, adding three players to bolster the Hawks next year.
Hailing from all around the country, Moriah Brookins, Haley Robinson and Allison Woods will play for the Maroon and Gray next season.
Moriah Brookins - OH/MB - Cypress, Calif. - Cypress H.S.
Brookins comes to Princess Anne after playing as an outside hitter and a middle blocker at Cypress High. A team captain, Brookins was one of the top hitters in the Empire Division, leading the Centurions to a 9-2 conference record to lead the team to a first place in the Empire Division of the California Southern Section.
Haley Robinson - MB - Honolulu, Hawaii - `Iolani School
Robinson will suit up for the Hawks as the first player from the state of Hawaii to ever play volleyball at UMES. Playing for the `Iolani School, the 88th-ranked high school team in the country, she earned 2012 Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division I Volleyball Second Team as a middle blocker and helped the Raiders win 17 matches last season.
Allison Woods - OH/L - Magnolia, Texas - Magnolia H.S.
Hailing from the Lone Star State, Woods comes to UMES after serving as an outside hitter and defensive specialist at Magnolia High. For the Bulldogs she earned All-District 18-4A First Team in 2012 and led the team to its best finish since 2007, winning a district title with a perfect 16-0 record in league play.
