UMES' PETRA JERABKOVA NAMED MEAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

NORFOLK, Va. - Hawk freshman Petra Jerabkova (Czech Republic) was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week, the conference announced today. Jerabkova was named to the Sacred Heart Hampton Inn Invitational All-Tournament Team over the weekend.
Jerabkova was solid, posting 24 kills, 41 assists and 32 digs. She was a dig shy of a triple double in the match against Manhattan. In that same match with the Jaspers she hit .278 to along with her double-double. The junior from the Czech Republic was playing in her first collegiate action over the weekend.
She shared All-Tournament Team honors with senior Jingqiao Li (Beijing, China) who set a career high with 28 digs against Manhattan, tallying 66 for the weekend.
The MEAC also announced that Howard's Katherine Broussard was named MEAC Player of the Week.
Jerabkova and Li will lead the Hawks into action this weekend in Norfolk, Va. in the Spartan Invite.
