Oct. 29, 2004 Princess Anne, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore's new Head Volleyball Coach, Alex Temkin, has already made a mark with the Hawks. This one was more of a personal feat, but it a testament to his ability as a coach. In just his third season as Head Coach, Temkin recorded his 50th win last night at Hampton University with a 3-0 win over the Lady Pirates. The win improved the Hawks to 15-14 overall as they currently stand in second place in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with a 7-2 MEAC record. Temkin came to UMES from American International College, a Division II program in Massachusetts. There he went 13-17 his first campaign and 22-9 his second season. He was 35-25 overall and 18-10 in conference play. Temkin goes for career win 51 when the Hawks take on Morgan State on November 4, 2004 in Princess Anne. The match is in Tawes Gymnasium at 7:00 pm.
