VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Senior Caylin Woodward (Garden Grove, Calif.) earned her second consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor, the league announced Monday.

Woodward, a 6-foot outside hitter, helped lead UMES to a pair of conference victories over Delaware State and Hampton last week to move to 8-0 in the MEAC. She posted 19 kills and a .405 hitting percentage with 13 digs, 12 assists, five aces and three block assists in the two matches.

Woodward tallied the team's first triple-double of the season against the Hornets Friday with 10 kills, 10 assists and 10 digs.

The weekly honor is the fifth overall from the conference this season as Bella Jade Romero (Arlington, Texas) has been named MEAC Rookie of the Week on three occasions.

Romero was also named an Other Top Performer for her efforts last week. She had 46 assists, six digs, two aces, one block assist and a .286 hitting percentage.

UMES (19-6, 8-0 MEAC), which wrapped up its third consecutive MEAC Northern Division title at Hampton Sunday and has won 10 matches in a row, next plays Coppin State Friday at the William P. Hytche Athletic Center at 7 p.m.
