Greensboro, NC - Sanda Dzile, a true freshman from Bauska, Latvia, earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's Rookie of the week Honors for a fifth time. The setter for the Hawks from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has won twice in a row and has now won five out of ten times this season.

The award given for the week ending on November 2, 2003, was given because of the Hawks two big conference wins last week over the Lady Aggies of North Carolina A & T and the Lady Bulldogs of South Carolina State University. Dzile totaled 64 assists in hose two matches along with ten service aces, and seven digs. The Hawks swept both matches by scores of 3-0.

UMES will play tonight at Hampton University in their next to last conference match of the season. They currently are winning the season series against the Lady Pirates two matches to none having won six games and losing two. Tonight will count as a MEAC standings match whereas the previous two have not. The Hawks will travel to Baltimore on Thursday to play the Lady Bears of Morgan State University in a non-conference contest and then to Norfolk State on Friday in their final MEAC match.
