Nov. 5, 2012
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Senior Ndidi Ibe (North Richland Hills, Texas) and sophomore Saitaua Iosia (Long Beach, Calif.) have been named the Peninsula Regional Medical Center University of Maryland Eastern Shore Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 5. This is the third time that each student-athlete has received the award. The two were also selected as the top athletes two weeks ago.
Ibe was a force to be reckoned with this past week as the senior notched 21 kills and seven blocks in two games. She collected 12 kills and hit .579 in the Hawks’ 3-1 victory over Morgan State on Friday, before posting nine kills and two service aces against Coppin State on Sunday.
Iosia continued her strong play in the Hawks’ two wins this week. She began the week with a game-high 19 kills and four service aces in the team’s win over Morgan State. Iosia just missed out on a double-double in the match as she had nine digs as well. The sophomore finished the week with an eight-kill, nine-dig effort in the team’s 3-0 win over Coppin State on Monday.
