NORFOLK, Va. -- The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference has announced that four University of Maryland Eastern Shore volleyball players, Zoe Bowens (Long Beach, Calif.), Jingqiao Li (Beijing, China), Raquel Rogers (Baltimore, Md.) and Victoria Williams (Los Angeles, Calif.), have been recognized on the 2011 Volleyball All-Academic Team.

To qualify, student-athletes must be on sophomore, junior or senior academic standing, hold a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and be enrolled in the MEAC institution at least one full year.

"I commend our volleyball student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the 2010-11 academic school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas in the MEAC press release, "I would further like to congratulate the coaches, academic support staff and parents of these academic achievers for their contributions to the student-athletes' success."

In all, 56 MEAC volleyball players from the 13 conference schools received All-Academic honors.
